First post back in SINGAPORE!!!

Love my home, my dogs, the transport and of cos the food!!

2011 will definitely be a chapter in my life that i will nvr forget=) Great experience. and I know not everyone can have this experience=) so glad I went, but not too sure whr would the degree I pursued land me in future..

Had been meeting friends and already started work! Learning back old tricks and of course, to interact with colleagues. Somehow, I feel I have this protective wall around myself. Well, I wouldnt feel so bad when Im less sensitive=)

Had quite a number of LJQ meetings! Christmas, birthdays and soon CNY!! Love the overdosing~~ ^.^

All I can say is that im a spoilt Singaporean!

Pathetically almost cant finish one bin and wouldnt have any pay! =(

But I made it!

Let see what I gained after today:

1) Harvested 500kg of onions
2) Breathed 2nd hand smoke for 2 hours
3) Bruise on my knees
4) Cramp on my hand
5) Blisters on my palm
6) Unremovable onion smell on my hand
7) Peeled off hp screen protector cos the soil got in
8) Flushing red cheeks (with sun block already. its was 34 degrees under direct sunlight)
9) Earned AUD$40

Lets see what I loss:

1) perhaps some weight? maybe?

Spoilt singaporean gonna be tougher! 415am farm work tomorrow again!

START OF SEM 2!!

School holidays flew past!! And I didnt had any holidays at all=( well, at least im always occupied=)

Had two weeks of work placement at greencross vets=) exoerience is pretty good. Feel familiar and happy to be back near animals, needles, syringes etc etc. Just being in a clinical setting makes me feel better=)

Followed by a week of radiology clinical rotation where we learn alot about taking radiographs=) One interesting fact is you get more radiation outside the building than in the building (not in the xray room) ! because its aussie and UV radiation is always high/extreme everyday..

And now, I had attended a week of lessons! Yr 3 vet techs start school one week earlier than others =( its only week 0. And I thought I wouldnt have 8am lessons! sigh.. couldnt wait for winter to be over so i do not have to bath in the freezing cold morning. but i don like the heat in summer either =x

actually, temperature seems to raise slightly already as compared to june. and i love how its like air-conditioned everywhere you go=) School library is the place where i can get some warmth and hide from the chilly strong winds. The wind can decrease the surrounding temp by 10 degrees!

and just today, we learnt that other than clinical rotation, we had to do 5 emergency shifts at st lucia (BRISBANE AGAIN!). Gonna be like a zombie for lesson the next day. but i hope i get sick of all these small animal stuffs so i feel happy and contented to be back at the zoo working with interesting species =) haha!

its august soon! 3 more months to final exam! and 4 more months to home!! =) xmy had been in bmt for ~6weeks? seems to be coping and performing well=) still miss u alot.. im a really lucky gf=)

and i miss my doudou too. even dreamt that he bit me! haha. 日有所思也有所夢. cant wait to hug my fluffy boy as he runs into my arms! might be my wishful thinking on my part though. haha. I always hug patients as though they were my dogs, makes me feel better...

time flew pass fats this month.. mainly cos of the happiest 10 days i spent here so far?? i can vividly remember how excited i was on the monday two weeks before this.. and i could only get more encouraged to study and revise so that i have spare time to slack for the 10 days.. now, all i can say is 漫无目的...

I survived first half of sem one pretty well=) almost quite satisfied with my mid semester exam results... gd start! exams in another 4 weeks time again.. jiayou man.. 4 paper this time round... i hate the drowning feeling..

the past 10 days made me almost forgot about the feeling of lonliness. im beginning to feel it again now. seriously don lik it! and its getting harder to pull myself out from my warm warm bed to the cold cold air.. sometimes im amaze at the temp i can tahan.. but when the wind blows, i surrender...

found a clinic to do my placement, hopefully will be approved by the school..

Next thing to look forward to: 24 June - End of semester exam! (ps: im halfway thr!)
27 June - Staying over at Yvonne's hse!

not really looking forward to holidays... i know i will have nowhere to go=( and i will be even more bored!! all my friends went back to singapore. i will be alone in gatton, cold & lonely....

just finished my mid semester exams!! finally had time to blog. was crazily studying for the past 5 days. 8am to 9 / 10 pm... hopefully my results are good=) I want the certificate of high commendation=) but looking at how i always score in my assignments and reports, it seems difficult. though i havent get any results back yet =P

its the end of my second month here!! it seems so short from november still! i guess when this semester is ending i will get excited cos im halfway through! hehe. looking forward to working in the small animal clinic too during the semester break. but i haven start to find one yet.

now till next next tuesday is holiday!! easter day + mid semester break + my usual mon and tue off.. got lots of school work to catch up with. was drowning with two papers at mid sem. what abt 4 at end sem?! plus reports to hand in after the holiday..

cant wait cant wait!! two friends took a midnight flight last night back to singapore for this holiday.. envy envy~~ and im the only one not gng back to singapore in the semester break in june too!! envy envy~~ but at least i manage to stay away form home for 10 months alone!! might wanna tour sydney or melbourne in june. no kakis=( save $1K to go back sg.. spend $70 to fly to sydney. ok mah. hehe. how abt alone??

brain kept wander off last night while i was revising for my Animal Therapeutics paper.. had to stop myself from thking and focus on my notes first. hehe. now i can start to plan and thk!! Goldcoast? to go or not to go?

Hello!

its my one month anniversary here=) hee... let me share with u somethings i can remember now=)

Somethings im still not use to:

1) the water taps, got two knobs - one hot water & one cold water. You have to adjust both to get the temp u wan.. im still not very gd at that. either gets scald or chilled at first.. haha...

2) quietness in the neighbourhood. Im not sure if the home in sg is tat quiet but i didnt notice. I cant stand the pin-dropping quietness here.. i MUST on the fan, not for wind, at least for some noise.. hehe

3) the need to cook daily. really tiring to thk of wat to cook for the next meal.. i usually cook dinner... then cook extra to pack as lunch for school tml.. so i cant eat maggi mee at all, unless i got extra food the previous day.. if not i tml jiu got no lunch to eat in school liao..

4) have to apply sunblock every single day.. morning apply sunblock before leaving hse, at night apply moisturizer before sleeping.. finishing that kiehl one form ljq liao~~ half bottle now i thk.. hehe.. and i always forget to apply sunblock to my face and oso lip balm.. have cracked lips now... i don apply sunblock if i wear long sleeves or long pants.. anyway they are covered mah. hehe..

5) early bird life.. im a night owl!! *hoot hoot*

Somethings im (slowly) used to:

1) Infrequent bus schedules

2) my hse

3) staying in a small town and not city

4) teaching methods in uni

5) going to supermarkets lik an auntie! eg: buying things on offer, buy 2 get 1 free! hee. trying to remember prices of the other supermarket to compare (thr is only two supermarket in gatton).

Things which i enjoyed:

1) chatting online at night.. on fb, on msn on twitter on watsapp=)

2) receiving an email with a note from friend=) have been doing tat with elina, my ex-colleague, mervis and praveena my current colleague=) email pals! hehe.. so friends! feel free to email me=) will be happy to have more email pals! somehow made me feel more accompany..

3) receiving or sending things from sg=)

4) SG/ hong kong/ jap/ korean/ tw dramas i got from judy.. really met me feel closer to sg.. hehe.. feel more lik home.. cant find chinese shows in the video ezy in gatton at all.. tv programs oso all english de.. i only watch one tv programme.. Dr House on monday nights=)

5) I joined the student wildlife association of gatton.. hehe.. so most tuesdays will have activities such as guest speakers.. may not be interesting, its better than rotting at home=) they will have camps and outings as well!! *look forward~~* =)

tats all i can remember now=) simple things lik buying new body foam makes me feel happier and look forward to bathing time so i can try out the new product i bought=) tats life here...

3 weeks after i moved in, i finally cleaned my room! vaccum clean and sprayed insecticide into the gaps between the wooden corners.. spider webs forming there.. then left the room to air for a little while.. now its feels its very clean=)

Did many things today, except study.. oh well, at least i emailed the lecturer to confirm the title of my report le=) then i can start doing it.. but i tried to do questions in the learning guide. the way he phrases his questions, i don understand wat is he asking for.. cham liao..

Finallly had my own printer and fan here=) and is in gd useable condition.. esp my printer.. the ink still got alot=) hee.. can print alot=)

jus now finally cooked something new but nice=) hehe.. yay!! i love the mash potatoes too=) its easy plus nice=) hehe... thing is i don really feel full.. guess im a rice person bah...

hope to learn many recipes here=) So I not only graduate with a degree=)

Still, i cant wait to go back. But, im sort of dread the arrival of may..

Day 2:

Went to school with my hse mate at 0830! cos she needs to do her phd research.. i jus wanna go school ask about which subject am i exmpted from cos i dunno which course to add.

She dropped me near the student centre and left... so i went to the student centre and enquire, and was told to come back at 2 pm! the person is having a meeting in the morning! and i was hungry, so i went to search for a canteen in school. After sometime, I found a cafe! wanted to eat fish and chips, lol.. at 9am in the morning. but they don start cooking that yet.. so i had a bacon and ham burger plus a choco milk. Stomach felt funny after drinking the milk.

Before i found the cafe, i had already walked alot of places around the school and there was no whr else to go! so i decided to stay at the cafe till 2pm! lol.. the staff kept staring at me=( afterall thr wasnt much customer. most takeaway.. i really hate the feeling of walking around the school alone, lost, aimless and seeing pple chatting laughing in grps but im all alone =( it was a difficult morning.. no access to school internet, states invalid user=(

i decided i must make friends!! maybe right away so i have someone to walk around the school with!! someone who is oso new.. haha.. and i targeted a chinese girl! she walked in and left her bags at the table beside me. and went to order her food. hmm, she seems familiar with the place. maybe she stay in the hostel and jus come down for her breakfast? sobb..

then i keep observing her. haha.. she is reading brochures on the table! jus lik wat i did! cos its new to me so i read mahz.. must be new to her too! and we happen to have eye contact. so i smiled at her and she smiled back! then i ask her whr is she from etc etc and we continue to chat!! slowly i move over her table and became friends, exchange numbers etc..

the cafe seems lik its closing at 1.. so we left and head to the student centre. wanted to get my student ID card. but i need to enrol in my courses first before i can get my card. but is becos i dunno which course to enrol in thats why im waiting for 2pm!!

She serve the net while waiting for me to wait for the person. in the end the list was already out! phew! so i can enrol and plan my timetable etc etc. My new, taiwanese friend, Jia Rong, left at 2pm to go see a house in gatton. I stayed in school to use the comp with her acct! so grateful! hee.. damn shiok to have a friend around! I use till 1630 and student centre is closing.. so i left and walk around alone again. this time round, mood was much better, not all alone anymore=) hee

walked till 5 and called Anne, my hsemate for a ride home=) went to supermarket to buy more things! haha... all neccessities ok! lol.. whr got pple buy rice without buying rice container to keep the rice de.. haha.. use rubber band meh?! hahaha...

then went home and used phone to go online to spend my night again.. oh, cooked my first meal here too! wierdly, it taste better after leaving it one night in the fridge!

die le.. need to write down wat i know how to cook.. limited recipes i know!! =( mundane life!!

its damn hot today!! and right now, at 2245, im still sweating!!! news says its 37 DEGREES IN GATTON TODAY!!! rahhhhhh~ and the heat from the laptop on my lap is adding it on!!

Hello Everyone!! its been quite a rough first few days for me!! Esp the first two days without internet access! And stupid me! The wireless password has always been in my email!! AHHHHH~ wasted $79 to buy the internet stick!! raaaaa~~

Day one:

Reached airport at about 0800 instead of the scheduled 0705 flight arrival time. Yvonne and me was thking have the airport reception guys left? I declared traditional medicines (ru yi you etc etc) while Yvonne declared her sweet she bought over. My baggage was so heavy that I couldnt carry it up to the conveyor belt to go through the xray machine! The airport police officer had to help me both baggage up. And when im cleared, another tourist behind me have to help me load my lagguage from the conveyor to the lagguage trolley as my bags are blocking his from coming out. oopss. haha.

Couldnt find the airport reception guys when we were out!! After awhile we found a counter with UQ pple.. Yvonne went forward to enquire while i stayed one side to look after our laguages... and yay! they were the ones we are waiting for! We waited for about one hour for our turn to leave. They grouped pple living in similar areas together. But Yvonne and me live so far away from the city that we were group together! though there is a great distance between our homes!

Yvonne reached her hse soon enough while for me, I reached my hse in the afternoon due to a major traffic jam on the highway. Was quite disppointed with the outer appearance of the hse at first when the driver confimed that this is whr my address states.. Oh well, at least i can rest now after travelling for more than 12 hr!

He knocks on the door but no one seem to be in the hse! Oh man, am i going to travel back to school again~? After awhile, someone came to open the door!! phew~ its my African hsemate, Anne =) We carried/pulled my laggauage to the backdoor of the hse and the driver left. Anne helped me with one and i carried another one up. Damn heavy arr~~ still, i manage to reach my room=)

I was left to unpack awhile and i decided i wanna take a shower first. After my shower, Anne warmed up some food she cooked earlier. 可惜 i don really like liver. So i ate only the roti even though im really hungry =(

She bought me around to the shops with her car after tat. Upon stepping out of the hse, i can feel the sun burning on my skin! SHIT! nvr apply sunblock! haha.. *Paranoid* I return home with my hands full=) Most imptly, PILLOW~~

and I had a sucky cup noodles for dinner as i didnt wan to eat the liver. haha. Felt something was missing and, it was MEAT! sobbbzz.. vegetarian for today=( went to bed at 6pm and woke up at 8pm.. and was fully awake, though tired..

Hsemate went to bed at 9pm! I went to my room soon too. My first night was helped by the music form my laptop and twittering and fb-ing and the visit of our friendly hsecat=) Slept at 1 plus in the end. without fan=(((

All the things i bought for the first two days=) hee.. im actually still plannin to buy more! one pillow doesnt seems to be thick enough to sleep on cos i wake up with an aching shoulder if i lie on one side (which is how i start slping). Cant find 花雕酒! But i thk i saw it somewhr...

My new best friends in the hse! Its quite different from having dogs at home to cats at home! Don worry Mr doudou, no one could replace you, but i shall put my love for u on them temporarily=)

Kept me company and entertained for awhile on my first nite=) Brighten up my night a little=) I heard a knock on my room door. And when i look, i saw a paw stretching in from underneath the door gap=) hee.. cute.. so i open the door and he walk in. I went back to my laptop to do pics on picasa. and he jumped up between the laptop and me=) heheh.. dunno what he wans... but cute=) jus keep looking at me=) cant help to sayang him but he starts poking holes into my bed with his claws!! But i guess he cant help it too cos tats wat cats do when they are shuang.. haha..

Im having my lunch now!! Mince beef, carrot porridge=) Nicely done by me!! hee
(PS: I did tried in incorporate some veg into my food!!)

This year's new year has been the busiest new year so far!! First time had tuan yuan fan at lunch instead of dinner. But still, is a yummy steamboat lunch=)

Went to second auntie hse for lunch. Carried my first nephew for the second time. Seems lik he gain weight and grown bigger already =) Gambled for awhile with my relatives and won $2! Catched Green Hornet with xmy after tat=) not bad, quite funny at some parts. Mahjong session for mummy and the boyfriends at night till the next morning! Lose dao 脱裤子! haha, luckily mummy sponsored some=)

初二

Visit to TK's hse! But only his dad is at home. Stayed awhile and I fell aslp thanks to the mahjong session last night. Set of to Bing Cong's hse in the evening=) Had dinner and played monopoly deal. Kept losing!! Watched Shaolin soccer on tv too!! Its been long since some girls talk with Shirley and Shermaine. Its a pity Sharon went home already. I believe this is the last time i will see many of them for this 9 months.

10 am appointment to meet under Qi's void deck. As expected, everyone wasnt ready on time. Went up Qi's hse at 11am. I played wii for the first time! Suck at sports!! but i like playing the guitar and drum=) had many many wierd and funny actions. haha! Lao Yu Shen too!! Proceeded to Ning's hse for steamboat dinner!! Yummy!!! Good food with good company!! Thanks to Ning's dad for peeling the prawn for us =)

Went shopping with xmy. Bought a torchlight and a microSD card. Tot mummy fried rice for dinner so we headed home. In the end, we just saw a packet of leftover white rice in the fridge =( so we helped ourselves to the leftover steamboat "liao" and fry our own fried rice!! YUMMY~! After dinner quickly went out to meet ning, en, ting and ing for HomeComing! as wat ning says, not a bad movie if u don hav high expectations =) Fun day!!

初四

Stressful afternoon for me. Visiting TK's ahma hse!! He reccomended to go in the afternoon whr thr isnt much pple around=) and indeed, thr wasnt much pple=) still, STRESSFUL~ but his ah ma and uncle already asked me to go, so must go mahx, if not lik 没礼貌.. Sat like a piece of wood till 430 and we left! phew~ Shopped around westmall to search for mummy's birthday present and headed to Night Safari for dinner with family=) Wierd mixture of guest invited. Aunties from my mother side + aunts from my father side + my family + boyfriends. Pocket burnt a big hole, but is a nice dinner=)

After dinner, we went to Lunar! my first time thr~~ not like i go clubbing or pubbing often! hahax.. all i can say is the place is quite chi-na.. but suitable for aunties mahz. Enjoyed the dance, drinks, games and company. Music was ok.. Drank quite alot but i wasnt drunk! nearly i guess.. almost vomit on the cab back.

Woke up without any headache! yay~! but still have some wan-to-vomit-feeling.. left my beloved bed at 2pm! haha! crawl out, bath and headed to Clementi! Had lunch at clementi mall! love the food thr =) and went hse visiting at TK's nanny hse=) Had beehoon and chicken wing there=) i love 家常菜!! YUMZ!! Chatted for awhile till 6 plus and headed to zoo.

Back to the place two days in a row! Prav and Mervis organised a farewell party at the zoo's auditorium. was sort of awkward when i walk past the security post into the pitch dark day zoo.. played Taboo and Twister. Should see how the vets describe every word!! almost all they can link it to animals! LOL

Received farewell gifts from them! didnt expect that. LOVE THEM LOTZ!!! Cabbed home in the end. *Ka-Ching* gone again~ tsk tsk..

everyone is back to normal days, schooling and working. I finally have the time and the sun to wash my dirty clothes and hand them out to shine! Got somemore time was i mopped the oily floor in my hse cos mummy fried something last night without closing the kitchen door! tsktsk! im sooooo housewife~~~!! omg~~

finally managed to watch Harry potter and the deathly hollows on Wed night!! Almost tot I have to watch it alone. wonder how it is like to watch a movie alone. Story sort of ended abruptly. hmm, hope i still remember what is in part one when part two is out=)

Cant wait for next Wed 1830 to arrive=) my 5 days straight off/annual leave/public holiday off=) hehehe.. im now working like 4 days a week cos clearing my leave. feels very shiok and make me don feel like working at all. but i cant cos then it will be very unfair to my fellow colleague. jia you jia you~ a few more weeks. hope i will get to go=)

for those of you who have been spending alot on online shopping/ cosmetics/ branded goods and burn a hole in your pocket/savings acct, don worry too much.. I did not do much of those but i cant understand why there still arent much in my bank! Hope I will save enough for Aus / Tw trip next year..

Had been not working for the past 3 days!! woots! finally a long awaited short break=) Haven got the feeling to work for the recent few weeks. But i don get to choose whether i want to go to work. So i went to work and worked like a stone.

spent the last 2 days with xmy. its been long since we spent the weekends together. its just so difficult to get saturday offs!! offending everyone in the process.. but its so unfair when someone else can take off becos u are able to cover his duties but he cant cover you when u take off on saturdays! and he cant be bothered to learn your duties!! $%^&*

put that aside.. i tried playing that fishing game in the arcade on saturday. its really like throwing your money away in 10 cents!! but i must admit its fun=) shall stop playing it unless i feel im really rich..

third day of rest alone and i feel so empty. ting, en and ning studying at expo.. if only im studying too.. oh well.. it should most probably be next year. i hope so... *fingers cross*

im now the only vet tech in WRS. currently trying to handle everything by myself. so far so good.. hopes nothing goes wrong...

life have been quite boring. now its just looking forward to my off day. and time flies so fast. i will have to do my attachment in SGH soon. im abit scare and unsure of what will happen, after all, my lab knowledge from school isnt that strong either.

Met jeslin at borders in Wheellocks place on Sat. chatted for a little while. it seems lik the 2 week period will last forever for me=( is that the same for you sharon? hopefully i would be able to meet up with you guys soon. i miss interaction time.

now, it feels abit stress to see that everyone around me is going to become an undergraduate but not me=( how i wish i can study as well...

qi and vonne finished their exam.. guess they should be very very happy now bah.. i sort of missed the feeling.. but i definitely don miss studying (yet).

this is my 600th post in this blog!

its been long since i officially started work. just received my first pay, which doesnt seems enough for me at all=(

i face the same problem as sharon. i spent alot of time with other animals in the hospital, but i only had so little time with my own dogs when i reached home. So had been trying to at least bring them for a walk on my off day. plus do something which creates bonding lik grooming, ear washing, teeth brushing, nail cutting, which they don appreciate at all! =p doudou is getting old and hindlegs are more weak. not lik he cant walk or walk with difficulty, his hindlegs sometimes jus give way when i lightly push his bump or when he bangs into something.

As for me, work had been alright. There are ups and downs. And i just have to learn to get over it to gain more experience. i now feel useful to my department. which is a wonderful feeling=) sometimes, being the youngest, newest, most no exp and sort of lowest 'rank', u have to learn to tolerate with contradictions of instructions and other things they blamed on u?

at the same time, im amazed at the wild collection of animals Singapore have. Really stunned me with the animals that came in the past few days. i always tot there is no wild animal in Singapore except for those occasional dogs, cats and some pythons. Im oso looking forward to the animals that will be imported in soon=)

oh yah.. i think i would need to read scientific papers again. but im just plain lazy, trying to push it back with time. end of the day, i just dunno how i could improve things. hahax.

im back from my batam trip with my poly clique + xmy =)

though didnt do anything much, its quite relaxing and enjoyable. maybe is the hotel too comfortable that we always rest and never go out... thai massage was WAHHHH.. almost wanna scream le.. hahax. Shopping was ok, but spent more than half on doudou's bed. which is actually for a baby. so ps when we carry it walking around everyone looking. one even ask is for baby or for niece -_-

today is the official end of our 20 weeks of SIP! WOOTS! but actually i ended yesterday. felt lik working life totally and adding on with our school life with the reports and everything. almost went out of breath. i experienced my first sleepless night in my life due to stress. brain constantly have something to worry about.

im glad i survived through. and im glad i got a job. within one month time, work life will start again. i dunno why. now i have the dread going to work de feeling. its even worst than going to school. working life is damn boring. the good thing is of cos the pay day=) hopefully i will spend my holidays happily and eventful-ly before mundane life starts again... -_-

im free now friends!! call me out!! im afraid i wont have time after 17 feb. and i miss u guys!!

feeling stress now... internship ending in 22 jan!! 3 more weeks=) felt happy to see the attendance almost signed fully.. hahax... lets see..

2009.. cant really remember much. completed my final phase of memorising for my diploma! tats one big acheivement! finally my brain can rest=) really don think i made new friends, except those at attachment. 2009 had been a very fast year and it went past so fast. don lik the feeling of growing up. from studying to working full time.

my last day of the year was spent with mr tan. watching the fireworks lit up the dark sky on the first sec of 2010. it was spectacular! looks lik morning. i guess 2010 will be a working year for me. ganbatte!!

time past so fast! another year will start soon! to think back, i really did nothing much in my life. hahax.. suddenly felt i wasted one whole year away.

now, im currently stuck with my major project. lots of things to do and im confused about some parts too! hopefully things will straighten out soon. and hopefully my results wont be drag down due to this project.

its christmas next week! and new year day next next week! so happy that my off day falls on them=) though not sure what will i be doing on that day lahz. hahax.

SIP in the zoo is still fun and happy to go. with all those exotic animals and species. i sort of get use to them le. lik when i went back to tour the zoo on my off day, nothing amuse me anymore, took only 3 photos throughout the whole day tour. hahax. but travelling is getting more and more tiring. i dragged myself out of bed every morning thinking i will continue my sleep on the bus. but most of the time i fall asleep when halfway. nearly missed my stop on wed. hahax.

its been long since i meet up with ljq. met poly friends on campus discussion. went tkd yesterday. think i old le, cant catch up with training.. hahaha. anyway! meeting ljq this sat! lets see who have any changes=) who grown thin/fat, who grown tall/short =p

i gain weight ever since my internship started! my god! i shall control my weight, don wanna fight with someone with a head taller than me next year in ivp.

woohoo~~ new experience this week!! i blow darted an animal! so exciting and anxious and @!#@#@! moment!! and sucessfully!! it hit the butt of the animal!! the darts is filled with antibiotic.. and what animal is it? its a ghoral!!! seems lik i have affinity with them.. first euthanasia and dart on them.. hee.. think i stressed out the keeper.. heehee...

14 more weeks to go! woo.. time flies huh.. dear dear is going back to sch on mon le! school reopen! and today is his last day at that clinic=) he completed his tough sip! haha.. dunno whether the vet will give him good appraisal, but i noe at least he will pass his sip=) cos sip is either pass or fail nia mahz... congrats boy!!

my mp title is confirmed le! but now, i don really noe how to start on it. the animal is housed at night safari. and they haven approve my project yet but most likely they will de. so till now, i did nothing at all. im having the lost feeling.

in a blink of the eye, another week has past!

work has been increasingly fun. its feels really good to be able to help and not be a burden. this weeks past real fast. for the first time in my life, i pts an animal. its a goral. and consequetively, i pts another one the next day. felt the guilt in me. somemore when i injected the catheter, the blood that flow into my hand is still warm.

i have a new name in zoo.. its GUANACO.. why? imagine some lecturer pronoucing gwen.. and the word that comes out is "guan".. it happens the same in zoo..lol

went to tkd training yesterday. but didnt train though. jus have some catching up session. and most of the time thr, im eating! lol. there this mooncake festival event in school now. so i ate tea eggs from thr lor.. hahax..

dear dear ending his sip soon le.. 15 more days. thats far from mine. but im jus beginning to blend into my work environment.

its off day again!! seems so long for this week.. hee.. so tired.. die later still got tuition and tkd.. hopefully i still can survive training.. hee...

getting more "trained" in the vet department le... but alot of staffs leaving.. so they lacking of vet tech/ lab tech.. sobsob.. then they say from next week onward i have to stay in the hospital (ward/lab) unless there is really nothing to do then can follow them... boohoo.. but anyway go out oso nothing much de.. jus get to see the keepers and the animal in its enclosure.. and oso feeding the mosquito.. my eczema suddenly act on my arms.. dunno isit cos i apply insect repellent? oh.. but i wont get to see the handsome lions and tigers and bears le=( nvm... i will try to follow=) hee...

poor dear dear have to work from 8 to 10 plus for 2 weeks.. cos the vet tech went back to myanmar and dear dear became the full time vet tech! cool man!! though he is paid lowly, at least he gets paid lahz.. and just now he was caught falling asleep while doing documentation by the vet.. luckily never get scolded.. hahax.. he actually told dear dear is wanna slp then go in slp awhile lahz.. lol.. so good ar.. but cos he in good mood bah.. lol..

hello!! its my second off days!!!

im getting use to attachment life le.. which oso means, no life.. hahaha... its good to feel useful and im beginning to noe things in the zoo.. i could even teach new volunteers.. woohoo.. but as thr are vet students from uni attaching thr, they tend to teach them more clinical stuffs.. so i jus stick by whenever i have nothing to do and learn too lor.. hahaha..

let me see wat have i done this week...

-autoclave surgical instruments
-preparing food for ward animals
-learn to perform mcmaster test
-using the biochem machine aka vet scan
-recording of lab results into comp and book
-done subcutaneous, intramuscular and intravenous inj
-animals encounter: python, cobra, cat & rabbit castration, kitten deworming, duck(attack by hawk), ring tail lemur, barking deer, fishing cats, pony,ghoral, bearded pig, capybara(which looks lik a giant guinea pig!!),giraffe, emu, guanaco

and of cos! the daily MOST MUNDANE HUSBANDRY.. but other than that, there is nothing much that is mundane.. most of the times, when i ask so where are we going now? the vet will say some animal sp.. then follow by "do u noe wats tat?".. "erm, no.." then they wil start explaining.. hahaha.. soon enough my vocab of animal sp will expand greatly...

quite ok working thr esp after husbandry, once its lunch time, time flies... hee.. the worst is the waking up part early in the morning.. these few days met ling ning on bus.. she now oso attachment at biopolis.. hahaha.. im getting use to the life thr!! but sun morning is the most diffciult one cos everyone else is sleeping soundly with no intention of getting up anytime soon.. lol.. though im always the first one to wake up in the hse from sat to wed...

hee.. still... i meet xmy every single day=) its been 2 weeks! woohoo!! hee.. but i have lesser time for my dogs.. reaching home at bout 10 and i will go to sleep soon enough and leaving my hse at 6+ in the morning.. everyday only have few minutes with them.. miss them so much.. yesterday saw doudou's hind leg split open when he was stretching.. somehow is lik his hind leg is not as strong le.. am i missing his aging stage??

yoohooo~~ in a blink of the eye, my 2 days of off days ended=( and im back to work tomolo...

work has been ok except for the morning part.. its husbandry... mundane and physically demanding... really hate cleaning chicks! so does everyone else thr.. so i have to do the sai kang lor=( contact many animals that i would most probably have the chance again in my life... but didnt really have much hands on.. jus helped observe and help to hold the anaesthetic mask... but saw many animals which i was never so close to them... the jaguar cub.. and his mother was one metre away from me in her cage.. then touched mousedeer and pangolin.. rabbits, cat and dog too.. i look forward to all those animals but at the same time i dread the morning husbandry which i noe i cannot avoid.. but at least it keeps me occupied...

off days are precious!! but i spent it enjoyably with xmy... thurs went tuition! earn more money!! hee.. but in the end decided don wanna go tkd training.. hee.. so went to fetch xmy.. then went to clementi and had dinner with his dad... then slack awhile at his hse... and we set off to my hse... hee..

today was eventful.. we woke up early.. cos we don wanna wake up and realise half of our off day are gone!! ate breakfast walk around went home... did some research.. and went to watch final destination.. now i understand wat is M18... omg.. i suffered from soft legs after the movie all the way until i reach home.. same for xmy.. omg... was sweating and squeezing xmy arms throughout.. I AM VERY GRATEFUL WE DIDNT CATCH THE 3D ONE.. but is cos the time slot is not suitable...

so here marks the end of my off days... 10 hours in the zoo per day excluding the travelling time and 5 straight days of working! GANBATTE GWEN!

yo everybody!! im back from napfa today... everything was alright except for 2.4km!!! IM 8 SECONDS FROM MY GOLD!!! WAT THE.............. and the incline station de instuctor tio alot of complain.. but since i got 3 pts le so nvm bah... haiz.. wasted for the 2.4km... nearly.. i never ran so fast for my 2.4km... stomach was cramping lik siao the moment i end and stop... its jus lik a prolong INTENSE menstrual cramp for 10 minutes.. cant stand ar~

oh yah.. my sip placement is out!! finally lik after so long.. hahaha.. IM GOING TO SINGAPORE ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN!! everyone's reaction will.. woah~ so cool~ must be fun... but i wasnt exactly happy bout it when i first hear bout it.. felt sort of sad.. as my first choice is vet clinic.. not zoo.. couldnt believe i got my second choice instead of first... by the second day i had my thoughts straighten out.. and i felt happier again=) its a rare chance.. i have the whole of the rest of my life to work with small animals=)

my supervisor is the assistant director of veterinary service of zoo... hope everyone thr is fun and working environment is good.. 5 day week! but no fix days...

ok.. here comes my long post to update my life.. spent a few hours uploading the pics and arranging them..

this is the TCM practical that we have before exams.. conducted by the vet who oso had a degree in traditional chinese medicine... my dogs got a free therapy! wahha..

toffee is said to hav back problems as u can see he turn back everytime the lecturer press on certain spot on his lower back on both the left and right side...

after our last paper on mon, a7k1 went to marina barrage together.. had some games there.. not bad.. quite fun.. but i got a big blue black due to the three legged race.. but its nothing compared to the fun=)

some of us stayed behind to "fly kite".. but we failed to make it fly.. its my first time flying kite too!! though its a failure, its still very fun.. imagine us running lik crazy desperately want to get the kite up.. lol

woohoo.. bpharm down.. one last SAprn which i only hav 2 days to study... had a relaxing session today.. wanted to start muggin for saprn at tp library after bpharm paper today... so went to eat at itas with xmy and went to library level 7... we sat down for 5 mins and decided we should relax for the day.. wahahha...

so we went to top up our timezone card (we depleted $80 so quickly!).. then played awhile.. hee.. we had a new addiction machine other than the basketball =) then went to buy some groceries and we did some cooking at my hse.. jus side dishes.. cos we ate at itas le..

tried a new potato recipe which didnt turn out good.. and potato skin today taste wierd... butbutbut!! first time my skills better than xmy in the kitchen.. hee.. wat skills lehz.. kneading dough de skills.. wahahha..

so we standed for 3 hours in the kitchen.. legs aching.. but it really destress me.. i forgot im in the exam period... ok.. now back to reality.. one last paper!!!

i think the class got puzzled and felt ridiculous on LAST tut quiz this week... dunno his(lecturer) understanding of english got pass not.. he set the paper!

QN in quiz: Researchers need to collect 130ml of rabbit blood. One rabbit weighs 6kg, one weighs 8kg.

b)What is the maximum possible blood that can be withdrawn from the 2 rabbits?
(ps: we got formula to use, max is 1% of body weight)

HIS answer:
8kg de rabbit --- 1% x 8 kg = 80ml
6kg de rabbit --- 130 - 80 = 50ml

but actually 1% of 6kg is 60ml.. thats the maximum wat.. thats wat the question is asking for rite.. then he say why we need extra volume(10ml) for.. blah blah... ridiculous... then say we in year 3 le, do alot papers, we must decide for ourselves wat is the most suitable answer... blah blah...

i survived today!!

with quizzes on every lesson today.. had a very tight head today.. lik scare all the info i memorise will fall out... so decided to skin LAST lec after its quiz.. hee.. so stressful today... and next week.. having quizzes on 4 consequtive days.. one day one quiz.. tsk tsk!! awhile more and it will be over!! cant wait for it now.. though i noe i will miss these days in the future.. lol.. but its really torturing now!

i think i even got paranoid.. when the bpharm cher finished her revision lec for the quiz 2 on next mon, she asked : "so are u all ready for the quiz... next monday?" i startled at that pause.. lol..

woohoo!!

lab as fun today.. we sterilized a female cat! and i was the anaesthetic assistant who helps to monitor the cat while surgery is going on.. felt a sense of respoinsibility of a life.. lik we (chief anaesthetis? and me) would be the first one to notice if something went wrong with the cat..

had to keep on adjusting the anaesthetic agent according to its heart rate.. keeping it not too high yet not too low... and making sure the animal is not waking up and getting enough oxygen=)

labs sessions this year is superb fun and beneficial=)

learnt to sew with needle holders and thumb forceps=) woohoo.. i feel pro.. lol.. cos always wonder how the vets sew with these metal things.. and i finally learnt it!! but my sewing skills was super lousy.. the pics below are my works.. lol.. hopefully i do practice well before i do a real suturing on a real animal... lol.. maybe i can help to sew up some of ur wounds too!! lol

had dinner at ah jie's work place too.. molten chocolate cake was fantastic!! omg...

it felt heartwarming whenever i watch tptkd video at facebook. makes me feel lik going to training even more. it jus feels comfortable down in the sports hall. but physically, training is lik hell!! but, im not winning in competitions despite my past attendance. in sparring, and now pattern!! but i felt consoled when everyone gave me a shock reaction. but haizzz..

time now past very fast as i slack at home. playing games on facebook, watching tv, searching for songs. in awhile it will be SIP. hopefully i get to be in a clinic. I had learnt alot during the 5 day attachment the other time. I think the 5 mths one will be even more beneficial=)

woo hoo~~ last night was one of the most exciting night i had=) hee..

mummy went malayisa.. and i went to played over night=) hee.. so long never play bowling and pool.. though very lousy.. but had fun.. and and... FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE.. i played lan!! wahaha... very sua gu.. keke.. played left 4 dead.. hee.. got quite excited and nervous and fingers got inflexible with the controls.. hehe.. amazingly i didnt felt very giddy.. hee..

4)doing a cardiac puncture on u (terminal procedure)
5)opening up ur body after your death

though u were very aggressive, my heart aches when i hear u squeak and struggling helplessly and worst still, in the hand of him.. who is continuosly poking u with the needle... hopefully u really did not feel anything after the anaesthesia.. i could feel ur hatred when i carried u in my arms when u are slowly dosing away.. maybe being reborn as a lab animal is worst then being banish into the 18 storey of hell..

wah.. this few days headache over SIP stuffs.. so tiring.. plus the quizzes and coming term test!! but i manage to catch a breather at tkd training yesterday... hee.. earn two blue blacks.. but the feeling of sparring is suddenly good.. used to be scary.. maybe cos i didnt spar with her.. wahaha.. and my head is still intact.. poor juniors.. lol

anyway.. i have decided to do my sip in singapore.. not overseas

went to hav mini celebration with ljq today.. and they were sooooo late~~~ and not full attendance... qi i understand.. but en~~~~ grrrr... lol

they gave me a laptop bag=) hahax... i havn even have the laptop and i got its bag first.. lol...

finally got to play with mila.. lol.. hyperactive girl.. i still prefer doudou.. wahhaa...
